This week started off with a visit to my eye doctor, Dr. Cribbs, at the Emory Eye Clinic.  It was time for yet another shot in my eye.  We spent 6 hours on this little adventure today.  I was able to complete another afghan while sitting in his waiting rom.  Good that I got it completed, not good that we had to sit and wait that long!  Oh well......

Because we were not traveling this week, I was able to catch up on a little reading.....and I have to say I felt 'productive' with my studies!

We got a phone call on Sunday night that our Bishop Magee from our Brunswick Ward at home in Maryland was going to be in town for business.  He wanted to take us out to dinner.  SO....on Tuesday evening he came to our apartment to meet us and then it was out to FRIED TOMATO CAFE in Newnen.  It was as good as ever!!

A little 'selfie' with Bishop Magee before he headed back to his hotel in Atlanta.  A great evening of catching up on the 'home front news'!!

This is the sign that hangs in the entrance of the Cafe.  Love it!!

The Missionaries in the Georgia Atlanta Mission had their Zone Training Meeting and Temple this week.  We had family file cards that needed to be done.  THANKS to their help, we were able to get a LOT of work accomplished.  Elders Norlund and Parkin were our 'messengers' for us!

President and Sister Cottle texted us and asked if we could meet them for dinner at a little French Restaurant.  They had to take a missionary to the airport and it was on their way home.  We said.....SURE ENOUGH!!!  How fun to have a double-date with them.  We surely love them.

We started our 'challenge' to walk 46 miles for the month of October to remember what would have been Jonathan's 46th birthday.  It was a gorgeous walking day on October 1st.

We had a special GEORGIA ATLANT SENIOR MISSIONARY ACTIVITY organized by Sister Mason (the mission nurse) on Friday.  Off to dinner and the Atlanta Braves game it was.  How fun was that.  Even President and Sister Foote were able to join us.  That was especially nice!!

And before we knew it, it was the weekend and time for our favorite time of the year....GENERAL CONFERENCE.  'Lucy' even enjoyed watching it with us.

I never sit idly by without having something in my hands.  This was no exception.

185th Semi Annual GENERAL CONFERENCE!  What a fantastic conference it was!!  The foto below:  3 new Apostles were sustained (due to the deaths of L. Tom Perry, President Boyd K. Packer and Richard G. Scott since the April 2015 conference).  Elder Rasband was the 1st one to be sustained.  Our connection to Elder Rasband:  While we were serving as Temple Missionaries in Finland 2009 - 2011, Elder Rasband toured the church in Finland.  With him were, among others, Elder L. Tom Perry.  Their wives accompanied them.  They came to the Temple and Wayne and I had the privilege of Officiating and Following a session that they all attended.  Elder and Sister Rasband were the witness couple.  Elder and Sister Perry also sat on the front row with the Perry's.  We have visited with Elder Rasband on several other occasions as we have served our missions.  Elder Gregory Schwitzer:  When he was visiting the Washington D.C. Temple in November 2013 he talked with Wayne about serving a medical mission.  'We need you' he said to him.  We had several conversations with him as to what locations for an AMA were available.  It was because of him and the discussions he had with us that we were called to serve a medical mission, where we are currently serving as this is being written.  Diana:  She sings in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.  We first became acquainted with her and her husband in October 2012 when Wayne and I went on a trip to Israel to visit the Holy Land.  They were our 'guides' for the group that we were a part of.  Michael Wilcox was the 'guest lecturer'.  What a spiritual experience that was for us, especially in view of the fact that it was so soon after Jonathan's passing away.  We were actually standing on the hill where a battle took place and Jonathan was killed and David was with him....and this happened to be on Jonathan's birthday that we were there.  A light rain was falling that day as well.....just like the day when Jonathan passed away.  That is our 'connection' to these 3 people in my layout below.  And, of course, our beloved Prophet, Thomas S. Monson.  He is there because he is our Prophet!

Now....we will be traveling again this week.  Headed up to Kentucky Louisville Mission.  We LOVE going to Kentucky.  Stay tuned.....Have a great week everyone....love y'all!!
