It has been a relatively 'easy' week this past week....NO travels for Zone Conferences!  That is about to change, however.  SPRING seems to have sprung here in Georgia this past week as well.  Starting to look really pretty with the blooming flowers and trees.

I was able to finish yet another afghan.....#45 or so since we have been on our mission.  I would have to look that up again.

On Wednesday evening we had dinner with Steve Duke!!  He had flown into Atlanta for an overnight stay.  He is a pilot for SouthWest (in case some of you don't know that).  It was fun to catch up with him!

On Thursday we headed up north for a little road trip.  We went first to TUNNEL HILL, GA....it had been recommended to us by Rodney, our neighbor.  It was fantastic.  The weather was a combination of rain and snow.  That meant it was a bit chilly up in those north Georgia mountains.  BUT, we had our own person guided tour of the historical tunnel.  This was the original tunnel built completely by hand pre-Civil War.  The Great American Train Chase was all about this tunnel.  Got to watch that movie when you get a chance.

On Friday we headed back up to the ROCK CITY, GA area.  We love it up there on Lookout Mountain.  The weather was cloudy but not rainy or snowy.  That was a blessing.  I just didn't have the courage to walk across this swinging bridge.  Too wobbly for my liking!!

However, Wayne reluctantly walked across it.  The view was beautiful....that would be Chattanooga, TN in the background.  And the sun peeked out a bit for us.

This little overhang was a bit scary to stand on too.  But we wanted our foto taken with Lovers Leap and the waterfalls in the background.  SO....it was a MUST for us to do that.

When we finished on Lookout Mountain we headed to the RiverFront in Chattanooga to find 'Ross's Landing'.  This is where the Cherokee Indians were brought to as they started their 'Trail of Tears' Journey.  The Southern Belle docked Riverboat is permanently positioned here.  We just happened upon this.  It was very cool.

On our way home on Saturday from northern Georgia we decided to stop by the temple.  It has been a little while since we have been able to get here because of our travels.  It was so good to be here again.

When we got home from our trip, 'Lucy' was there to greet us and so happy to have us home.  She sat on top of my suitcase to make sure we weren't going anywhere for a while!!

I got a couple of more crochet doilies made this week!!  This was a fun new design that I wanted to try.  It was super easy.

We had Stake Conference this weekend.  It was great.  We really enjoyed all of the speakers.  We ended our Sabbath with an 'emergency' visit to Dr. Wilcox's Dental office here in Peachtree City.  Dr. Wilcox is the High Priest Group leader in the Whitewater Ward we attend.  Dad has had a tooth ache for a while now but over the past few days it has gotten pretty intense.  Bad enough that he put himself on an antibiotic!!  That tells you something I guess.  The bottom line from the exam is that tomorrow, Monday, we will be headed to Bishop Haycock's Dental office for a root canal.  Bishop Haycock is the Bishop of the Whitewater Ward.  Good thing we have all of this dental 'help' close by when dad has a tooth problem!!  That seems to occur rather frequently!
And, it is a good thing we can get that dental work done tomorrow because we are on the road to South Carolina Columbia Mission on Tuesday and will be there for the week!!  Love y'all!!!  Have a great week....we LOVE our mission!!
